your spin story made me laugh a lil because I had a similiar situation happen to me. It was the Grand Central location. I was checking the web for spin classes and found one close to me…and it didnt show a SIGN UP…what no sign up?? weird, but I figured ok…maybe its a dead class…which was great for me because it was to be my very first spin class. i get in get my seat all set up relax talk to the people around me and then comes in the instructor….get this…with a sign up sheet. I think to myself…SHIT!!!! she was a terror. I was not the only one who looked to the website for this class, there were 3 other girls who didnt know to sign up for it. she barked at me to get off the bike I said no, those girls didnt sign up either and I was here before them. We told her the website doesnt show it as a sign up class. she didnt care, she just kept waving her sign up sheet and yelling. I told her she was being unfair and that I was here first and set up (Bows head) I gave in got off the bike, I know, I know…I should have fought, but honestly with it being my first spin class, I figured she would really kill me (and I’m in shape)and there was NO way I was gonna let her get the satisfaction of kicking my a**. so I said some choice words to her and marched to the front desk and yelled at them of course they are CLUELESS to the fact that it IS a sign up class. The guy at the desk tells the other worker at the desk to change the website now. I mean seriously….was I the ONLY one to complain about that? I think NOT. I will say that as I made my way back past the bike room to go upstairs and find a something else to workout with, one of the spinners came out to me and said…there is an extra seat if you want…I said..no thanks…I’m over it already…she tried to again to get me in, I thanked her but said honestly I cant even look at the instructor without wanting to rip her face off….did i mention I box and do kickboxing? =)

Major complaints about NYSC:

* DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY and I see people walk around BARE FOOT…(GAGS!!!)
* Management and front desk always seem confused and give alot of wrong information about classes being cancelled, if an instructor is showing up or if there is a sub. They just never seem to know what is actually going on.

Oh and my major complaint with MEMBERS….GIVE ME ROOM TO WORKOUT IN..jesus h christ….you come so close to me in class it drives me crazy…isn’t there some type of rule with personal space??? in kickboxing if your right up on top of me….YOUR GONNA GET KICKED…dont then looke at me like….you just kicked me, and then complain to the instructor. WAKE UP

Overall a gym is a gym is a gym. NYSC has lots of locations and I’m sure we all can find something we like.

If you want resolution, for those who feel they are in a battlefield with the NYSC (for whatever reason(s)), contact the BBB and Health Dept. and file your complaints. The steam room saga is NOTHING out of the ordinary with the any club, but that doesn’t make it right.

I still put up with it even-though most of the problems are caused by the members themselves:
1.why put a wet dirty towel in the bin WHICH IS RIGHT NEXT TO YOU when the floor is more convenient the same rules apply on the gym floor with towels, freeweights, magazines etc…
2.People were to lazy/stupid to turn off the TV, so the club institutes the plug and play type of monitors: sucks to be you if you want to watch a BB game and listen to your own music AND then ass holes damage the units by disconnecting the cords which control the TV [I now a way around this but don't tell ppl 'cause they wont turn it off]
