My name is Sherika and I live in NYC with my boyfriend and two cats.
.
In October 2008 I started Just Eat Smart, a blog designed to deliver a daily dose of health and fitness articles infused with humor, into an industry where the writing is usually so dry. One short month later I opened it to other topics when I realized that I had so many other things to say.
After about two or three months, blogging was no longer just a hobby, it became an obsession— but that’s only according to certain friends and family. I like to use the slightly less noxious term, passion. The focus of my writing deviated away from exercise to elaborate, semi-interesting stories about my life and my everyday experiences, as documented under narcissistic ramblings. For some reason, I actually believed people would be interested in my life. Health and fitness was still the theme, but it was really just a way for me to talk about myself without really talking about myself.
While I actually spend most days reading about new diet studies, learning the latest trends and techniques in fitness, it will almost always be delivered to you in between the lines of a funny story about something that has happened in my life. Nutrition and fitness has always been a strong interest of mine and I hope to continue to help people, online or in person. Changing lives is really what I am about—helping people to understand how to Just Eat Smart, get strong and feel great everyday of their lives.

A Word About Disclaimers
All of the above said, you should never embark on a diet or exercise program without first consulting your doctor. And maybe while you are there, you can ask him about that lump on your arm or if he recommends Lipitor. But that’s only a suggestion, like everything else on this blog. If something goes wrong, don’t sue me. This is the internet, after all. You must use your common sense.
